The Champions League is finally back and every football fan on earth I'm sure is looking forward to it. One of the biggest games of the draw is certainly Juventus vs Tottenham. Juventus are beaten finalists of last year and 2015, and have not been quite at their reliable best both in attack and defence this season.
Big Miss- Juventus will be without star man Paulo Dybala who I am sure will be a big miss, especially with his ability to take the ball on the half turn and drive at the opponents defence with his great dribbling and skill. Something that Juventus have lacked since his absence. Tottenham continue to be without Toby Alderweireld but Vertonghen has certainly impressed in recent weeks.
Key Players- Giorgio Chiellini will be the main man for Juventus as they will need him to martial the brilliant Harry Kane. He has formed a good partnership with Benatia beside him and with Juventus only having conceded 1 in their last 11 games will look to lead the team to a clean sheet.
Harry Kane is Spurs' main man and will look to help get the team at least a point away from home. It could be his goal or goals that are the deciding factor in the outcome of the match. Kane has currently scored 6 goals and contributed with 2 assists in 5 games in the champions league so far.
Prediction- Home advantage is always key and Juventus are a seasoned Champions League team. However, they did not look overly impressive in the group stage, even with the amount of quality players they have at their disposal. Sporting Lisbon pushed them all the way to that second spot. Tottenham are relative newbies to the Champions League having not been in the competition many times but were outstanding in both their matches against Real Madrid and rightfully topped the group. However in comparison to the Juventus players they are at a significant disadvantage when it comes to experience and being able to handle the occasion. Both teams though are on a good run of form and I hope to see the star players turn up. I will go with a 1-1 draw which will certainly please Pochettino and his men.
